ABSOLUTELY! The same guidelines are used, but the foundation inspection is done inside the crawl space, looking at the support of the home, as well as tie-downs and anchor points, insulation, and structure.
If you are selling or buying a manufactured home, then most likely a foundation certification will be required. For all FHA and VA loans, an engineer's foundation certification is required that states that the home is placed on a permanent foundation that complies with the "HUD Permament Foundation Guide for Manufatured Homes", dated 1996 by the US Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD).

ABSOLUTELY! "New" doesn't mean "Perfect". Just because a home is new doesn't mean it is perfect - mistakes happen all the time. The best way to protect your future home - AND give you peace of mind - is to "check in" crucial points during the Build process. The cost of getting your home inspected at each phase is minimal compared to the cost of making repairs that should have been caught before you took possession. Plan inspections ahead of time with both your inspector AND your builder and then rest easy knowing that your home - your important investment - has been looked over - from the peak of the roof to the foundation - and everything in-between.
New Construction phased inspections can vary in price, but is mostly dependent on the total square footage of the home - from $100 to $400 per phase - or around $350-1,000 fo rthe entire process.
